Clansman at Barra and a royal recommendation :

Princess Anne who know the Western Isles very well, had a 15 minute chat with me at the Clansman’s naming ceremony during which she turned to the directors and told them the painting is perfect and they should commission me to paint more for them.

You could commission a similar painting, I still have my sketches and notes.

Available as a fine art print on canvas for the look and feel of the original, signed, numbered from our ‘Marine Art Prints‘ page

from £187.00 inc packing & registered post.

Clansman paintings

This picture was ordered by the managing director of Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd as the first of a series which included ‘Loch Nevis‘ and ‘Hebrides‘.

Calmac had a new ferry building at the Appledore Shipyard, N. Devon for the Western Isles, The Outer Hebrides in particular for Barra.

Calmac required 3 paintings suitable to present to Royalty.

They were confident  I had plenty of experience of this sort of work so specifications and budget were quickly sorted, contract agree and visits to the design office (Glasgow) and to Barra.

Clansman Royal Invitation
