Virgin Atlantic Challenger II with some difficulties made the fastest Atlantic crossing record with Richard Branson and his Virgin team, from the Ambrose light, New York to the Wolf Rock lighthouse, Isles of Scilly run.
I was invited by friends at BBC Radio Cornwall to be on board the Press Boat from which I took the only colour picture record.
That evening at the Press conference I painted a watercolour which all the Virgin crew including Richard Branson & Chay Blyth signed on the reverse(It’s for sale now).
The watercolour and photographs plus my sense of the occasion are the basis of this exceptional painting.

In the year 1933, Geoffrey Hales commissioned and donated a trophy.
This trophy was denied to Richard Branson and his Virgin Atlantic Challenge 2 team.
