This remarkable marine painting was composed from sketches and photographs by a direct method the illustrious Mr. W J M Turner would have approved.
The sketches and photographs [which I still have] from which this marine painting was created were made from the heavily pitching fore deck of a 45 foot press launch provided by sponsors Champagne Mumm.
