The Christmas Surprise and the location chosen for this painting of Hazlerigg a Moody 31, were originals idea  idea came from Sue Rees via the internet where she had found www.frickers.co.uk/art so contacted me.

Completion withing a tight schedule and budget were important so together we decided to opt for a watercolour.

She wanted their family yacht, shown in a fresh breeze off a recognisable part of the Gower Peninsular, their home waters.

Sue Rees had requested the Gower Peninsular, saying  “the Gower Peninsular it is somewhere our friends will immediately recognise“.

The Gower Peninsular is a distinctive coastline, not one I’m familiar with so some research was needed on the way to this very successful watercolour.
