So, to celebrate here is a Scottish #painting of mine, a #Calmac, Clansman at Barra, as recommended by Princess Anne.

Painting by Gordon Frickers 61 x 91 cm (24″ x 36″), oils on board, the original is in the main salon on board the ship ‘Clansman’.

Available as a fine art print on canvas for the look and feel of the original, signed, numbered, see our ‘Marine Art Prints‘ page.

Clansman at Barra is available as a beautiful print, on canvas from the Prints Gallery of this website.

Princess Anne

spent 15 minutes at the Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd naming ceremony of “Clansman” talking to the artist and suggested that he should be encouraged to paint more Hebrides scenes.
A result was 2 further commissions from Calmac.

Follow the example of Captain J. A. B. Simkins, managing director of Caledonian MacBrayne (Calmac) who had read a 3/4 page about my paintings published by Lloyds List International so phone called me.
