A Trafalgar surprise
Trafalgar and an unsought, unexpected thank you for a job well done.
Carefully packed, beautifully presented these vintage ports arrived by courier today 😃!
Two questions, why the gift and who to open these with ???
While I’m fond of red port I’ve never tried white port so this will be fun.
The Trafalgar Way : some way now well astern I was asked and honoured to be one of the judges of a national competition by The 1805 Club for children painting on the theme of ‘The Trafalgar Way’, a route now marked, celebrated and recommence on official Ordnance Survey maps.
The Trafalgar Way competition objective was to widen appreciation among children and their parents of the age of Nelson and of its place in our history upon which our lives are built .
The request to judge was in part because of my now famous paintings on the theme of the Trafalgar Dispatch, ‘H.M.S. Pickle, I Have Urgent Dispatches’
(available as a superb fine art print from my website), ‘HMS Pickle, First With News’
and ‘Trafalgar, Word of Mouth’.
From 2005 The Trafalgar Way is officially marked English Ordinance Survey maps as a recommended tour following the route used from Falmouth, Cornwall to London.
