Auction Action

I was asked to write a 150 word résumée to go with the two ‘Fish’ I was asked to paint for a charity auction in support of The Fishermen’s Mission so thought you might enjoy my sharing the result with you.
Fish a la Frickers

Gordon Frickers résumée

Few artists are so fortunate as to have paintings become famous. Those of Gordon Frickers include “Roaring Forties”, “I Have Urgent Dispatchesand “Trafalgar Dawn”.

He brings an amazing range of experience to his calling. Art educated in England and France, he learned his basic seamanship from some of the last men to trade under sail and is a master boat builder. The only ‘Official Artist’ in the history of HMS Victory, he is also one of the very few artists invited to exhibit at the European Parliament [May 2011], the only Marine Artist to have done so.

Distinguished clients include Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Tracy Edwards, The Ministry of Defence and Yamaha.

Many of his paintings are personal or company treasure.

Consequently it is very unlikely you will find the art of Gordon Frickers listed with auction houses.

His web site including his résumée is www.frickers.co.uk/art

This résumée neatly worked out as 149 words.

Ohh, and the painting in the background, is from my “Famous Wine Villages of Bordeaux” series and is ‘rue Principal, Sauternes’.
