This lucky painting has had a chance to dry, for the oil colours to settle, so here is a post about understanding oil painting and a bit about Roald Dahl’s autobiography “Going Solo”. In turn that means I can return to the painting and make a few improvements to colours, atmosphere and composition, here are the results so far, the picture is almost but not quite complete

Sea Fog
I thought it a good idea, a glorious evening trip to Roche-Bernard with my visitors, Michael Baker and Linda Winter.
The sun shone it’s shiniest best as we left Théhillac bound for une petite cité de caractère, Roche-Bernard.
As Michael drove their Volvo I noticed odd clouds to the South West over distant La Baule.
They reminded me of approaching sea fog.
Hot painting today

Superyacht, royal, revolutionary
This picture is as close to seeing this splendid yacht as you are likely to ever get; I’ll explain. Prompted by and following an interesting post on another web site, I have thoroughly updated the page “Royal Yacht Britannia (1893)“. By the way I still have a very few signed, numbered copies left available from my web site.
