French Frigate off Cape Trafalgar
Not then (21 October 1805), yesterday. As I write the French frigate “Hermione” is sailing west of the Straits of Gibraltar. Meanwhile in my studio, with the oil colours dry I decided to make some changes to my painting of Hermione.

Not exactly a vacation
A vacation in the usual sense, not exactly and unplanned, I grabbed the first opportunity of the fine weather and am pleased this maintenance task is complete for a year or three.
I regard some sort of boat as an essential tool for a marine artist.

On passage today
I’ve been ‘harbour watch’ for these two fine ships at the request of my client so had the pleasure of this marine art for a little longer than is normal.
“Bamora and Canberra” are on passage, au revoir, bon voyage, this marine painting went today by courier on it’s voyage to my client in England.
An Internet surprise
Today included a request, a distinguished British journalist and a distinguished Russian Captain, a naval officer (rtd), to introduce two friends of mine to each other. They have in common the development of submarine technology.
