Sir Robin Knox Johnston a BRITISH sailing legend (see “Roaring Forties” ~ signed prints available via this site) , the first man to sail round the world single-handed and without stopping, is going racing again today. Robin Knox-Johnston sets off from Saint-Malo with 90 other yachts in the Route de Rhum race to Guadeloupe.

My preparations to go to England were carried out in secret, no notice in the social media, to create a romantique Secret David Smith Surprise… a once in a life time event.
Here is the reason I kept shtum …

Bretange, boarding the Brittany Ferries ferry at Saint Malo for Plymouth, one of their older ships, a lovely ship with fine restaurants and comfortable cabins.
I view the voyage as a mini cruise, a time to savour.
Usually I let people know via the social media I’m headed for England, not this time though.
