Publicity helps artists? Article exclusif

“Frickers, of waves and of hillsides” =   a French pun,  = “Frickers, des vagues et des coteaux”, light amusement,  have a look at Monday’s La Depeche

An exclusive article, “Frickers, des vagues et des coteaux”, written by the chief La Depeche  journalist Jean Andre l’Hopitaut to whom I was introduced by my good friend Charles de Noblet, my thanks to you both mes amis.

Is all publicity is good publicity?

Long ago no lesser person than Nick Bonham (of Bonhams, auctioneers, Knightsbridge, London) who I met at a Cowes week told me “you must have a high profile”.

Taking that to heart over the years I’ve always found time for journalists and helped them as much as I can with text and free pictures (limited use ~ the copyrights remain with the artist).

Likewise, anyone who ‘shares’ or re posts stories about my art is genuinely helping (my thanks to you all) to spread awareness.

Even more helpful are people who add hyperlinks especially from educational institutions, Universities, museums, schools etc, to pages on my site and people who add info on their site referring to my site.

As for journalists my experience is all journalists are interesting busy people.

I make sure they have all they ask from me & promptly.

Happily some have become good friends.

An exclusive article, “Frickers, des vagues et des coteaux”, a nice article in French about the art of Gordon Frickers, lacking a portrait photo but otherwise geniale, thanks guys.

By the way we have a few remaining signed copies of the famous painting illustrated in La Depeche, “Roaring Forties” available from this web site, see ‘print gallery‘.

Enjoy.
