a celebration of Samuel Plimsoll, 17 th july at Folkestone

This is to let you have the good news: the Folkestone Charter of Corporation has agreed to incorporate a celebration of Samuel Plimsoll into its 700th celebrations on 17th July.

I shall keep you posted about other commemorative activity as I hear about it.

The clipper ship Samuel Plimsoll is illustrated in fine detail in the painting “Emigration Plymouth Cattewater“.

Valentine's day? Ice Maiden, last orders please!

Women on Valentine’s day – Another copy of ‘Ice Maiden‘ has sold, one of the last available, showing the record breaking yacht ‘Maiden’ with her all women crew in the Southern Ocean.

The renowned yacht ‘Maiden’ is the subject of a high quality print ordered with a remarque and framed for Mr. JS of Canterbury who wrote “now keen as mustard, space ready and waiting on wall” then upon arrival of the marine print “Print has arrived and looks fantastic, thank you“.

This evening despite the steady rain and more snow here  metaphorically, the sun came out: major changes to the web site and regular email was restored for the first time in 3 months; if you have the time, please always advise me of any web page that does not open, thank you.

The pain lasted weeks, subsiding now thanks to the work, the support of 34sp.com, pobox.com and 4 large bars of chocolate…
