E mail Problem – Serious

The web site has a serious e mail problem associated with Windows Live Mail.

Until further notice please use our emergency e mail address:  gordonfrickers@nullyahoo.co.uk , thank you.

We are unable to receive or send e mail. For Server: ‘mail.frickers.co.uk, we get: Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Server Response: -ERR Login failed.

We are getting error: Server: ‘sasl.smtp.pobox.com’, Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E, Socket Error: 10060. We are working on the problem with Pobox.com and 34sp.com.

If you know of a solution or have / had a similar problem please email us at gordonfrickers@nullyahoo.co.uk or phone + 44 (0)1865 52 2435

The first sign of the problem was last November when we found we could receive but not send email via Windows Live Mail.

Since then both our computers have been back to England and tested by the supplier; they worked perfectly.

The problem seems to be something to do with operating English computers from France.

For 5 .5 years our computers and email operated without a problem from my French studio.

Last week we also started to get “Unable to send or receive messages for the gordon mail account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you’ll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account“.

Unfortunately the correct password is not being accepted by Windows Live Mail.

This means in real terms all email to us via Pobox and via all frickers.co.uk addresses bounces back to the sender so we have  not received your message.

This is not good news for our friends, potential clients and fellow researchers.

This  effectively cripples our efforts.

We will try to contact everyone on our mailing list to advise them of the yahoo address alternative.

Kindly accept our sincere appologies and be assured we are trying our best with Pobox and 34sp to resolve the problem.

Happily our phone numbers, general Internet connection and Skype are still working normally.

Sincerely, Gordon Frickers.
