Convoy PQ 13 remembered

As a result of the painting on this web site and this blog with parts of PQ 13 stories I have recently been contacted by a gentleman who asked me to mention him with the possible intent of putting him in touch if you are interested in PQ 13, convoy to Murmansk. He has also asked if he can buy a print of this picture.  Convoy_PQ13_attacked_by_JU_88__s_d.JPGUnfortunately this picture is not in print yet although another, of the

he wrote among other things:
“I’ve come across your blog with reference to convoy PQ -13 my grandfather was aboard the INDUNA and survived after it had been sunk in march 1942, the reason I’m contact you is I’m trying to get a contact for Morris O Mills author of convoy PQ -13 my grandfather was Thomas Shirley and we believe they may of meet in Russia?”
I had the sad task of reporting Morris’s demise.
” it sad news about Morris my grandfather passed some time ago now and there only one survivor of the Induna I know who’s at that’s 89 Austin Byrne an navel gunner, I love a copy of you print how can get hold of one?
Also please pass my details on I have lots research they may like?”
If you can help me please contact me.”
