New and Old ~ Skype exchanges

The latter is now an urgent task. Over all though I am making steady weekly progress re Brussels. I’m a bit panicy about getting all done but so far so good.

Frick ~ what is in a name?

“Frick” and seems to mean Herald of some one similar, a messenger, quite appropriate for a painter?

I discovered this quite recently (blog entry 03/03/11) thanks to Hans Fricker who contacted me via Skype.

My family name seems to be connected to a village in Switzerland, the village of Frick.

Cutting edge, have your say…

I’m working on a large marine painting (30″ x 40″ = 762x1016mm), marine ish that is, of the Bay of Antibes at sunset viewed from Cap Antibes near the lighthouse.

I’ve been struggling to find the lighting effect in the sky and land that I have in my vision.

To my surprise a visiting friend who used to help run the renowned Painting School of Montmiral said “Stop!”

A round up of the weeks strays

I have  mostly  been kept occupied this week with preparing a new advert to appear in Plymouth, working on the new painting “New and Old” and the large painting of Antibes, also delighted to be helping my son.
