"Ferriera" ex "Cutty Sark", "Last Departure"
This very fine marine painting was exhibited onboard Cutty Sark at Greenwich, London, exhibited at the request of Cutty Sark‘s then Captain, Simon Waite (photo on the web site).
This splendid marine art has resurfaced in a private collection, it’s owners one of whom is a decendant of Vasco da Gamma are offering “Last departure” for sale as they are retiring and down sizing their home.
With the L’association Laperouse
L’association Laperouse, a dynamic association based around the Museum of Laperouse in the old quarter of Albi launched a new book with champagne and “la galette des rois” about recent discoveries relating to Laperouse.
You may be aware of Laperouse?
Laperouse, navigator and discoverer was literally the French answer to Captain James Cook and the HMS Endeavour.
List of paintings for the European Parliament
Today we had very good light here and a stunning sunset with the Pyrenees in clear sight, I’m told 100 miles away…
I worked on a painting of a Blue funnel steamer entering Liverpool docks by moonlight.
I also sent, big event for any artist, the requested list of paintings following the offer of an exhibition at the European Parliament, some 51 in all.

Samuel Plimsoll and the Cattewater, Plymouth
Making steady progress with this new painting despite numerous distractions not least the recent heavy snow which again stopped all the local traffic except 4 x4’s who compacted the snow until even they were ditch parking, hence the phrase “ditch it“?
I have some 5 paintings on the go at present, this one at 1220 x 760 (48″ x 30″) is to be the largest.
The clickable pic (left) gives you much information re the progress, a bit more in this text below…
