Wild deer abound in the forests around Castelnau de Montmiral, here in the Tarn. Timid, rarely seen, I have seen several lately one in particular surprised me.
I saw this deer early one morning this week while driving to Itzac. The deer was grazing among a herd of cows, as if that was natural.
I see lots of various wild animals when I drive early and late around the forested parts of the Tarn region of France . As soon as I stopped the car, even before I could get out, the cows, previously peaceful and oblivious to the deer, chased and I mean chased the deer away.
I only had time to grab one hasty photo which I hope is attached here.
How do you explain the cows aggressive behaviour?
