This painting now has pride of place in La Mairie and was used for Christmas cards for the mayor and town hall. The south part of this beautiful village has a modern feel, an open "Place" with gardens, seats and various national flags, laid out to create a place with space, light & calm, yet this is the business end of the village with the town hall standing in it's own gardens & pathways, the Maison de Sauternes being one of the best places for an introduction to the wines of Sauternes. The buildings have been thoughtfully renovated & this painting & an other oil sketch have been produced at the suggestion of the Mayor & Mayoress.
