Sanbaq Dhow speaking with pearl fishermen
This fine art marine painting is the second painting in this series is of a Sanbaq type dhow engaged with pearl divers. Dhows helped mould the world of today and have left a romantic and fiery legend. The Sanbaq dhow was much favoured for general purpose trading being equally capable of running up a beach and making an ocean passage. Sanbaq's go back a long way. It may even have been a sanbaq the prophet Muhammad is said to have sailed on.
