For shipping professionals:
Example: How to commission a first class painting.

This picture was ordered by the then managing director of Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd as the first of a series. He had a new ferry building at the Appledore Shipyard, N. Devon for the Western Isles, The Outer Hebrides in particular for Barra. The MD required paintings of high enough quality to present to Royalty, for the boardroom and for the main saloon of the new ship. Gordon Frickers has plenty of experience of this sort of work so specifications and budget were quickly sorted and the artist produced an appropriate contract to cement the agreement. This successful project produced further commissions from Calmac.
