I can barely keep, up with it!
This is one of those days which reminds me of the debt we owe those who went before us to build our world.
The marine painting “Trafalgar Dawn” still haunts me (available in prints see http://www.frickers.co.uk/marine-art/trafalgar_dawn.html).

I am planning a new piece of marine art, the opposite view.

Today was very 21st century though.

I have had today 3 enquiries about my marine painting which may be of interest and found myself yet again busy with Trafalgar and Admiral Nelson issues.  (more…)

I have been asked today to be on HMS Victory on the 4 th Dec for an interview to go onto a BBC Channel 4 documentary next spring.

Just back from an awesome visit to Portsmouth brought about by one of my “icon” marine paintings, “I have urgent dispatches“  http://www.frickers.co.uk/marine-art/urgent_dispatches.html,  WOT! you don’t have a copy in your collection yet? and it is going to be shown on TV? ~ available exclusively from this site as a limited signed edition.

Yesterday morning I joined Tom Cunliffe and the Forum Film team boarding HMS Victory at 07.30 to film part of an episode of “The boats that built Britain“,  and was pinching myself by 08.00 in the Admiral’s great cabin wondering if this was really happening…  (more…)

Great fun yesterday: the Forum Films having discovered me via this web site because of my renowned marine picture “I have urgent dispatches” and because of  my friend Ann Maddever (a decendant of the commander of HMS Pickle)  made a documentary series “The Boats that built Britain” series narrated by Tom Cunliffe which was broadcast prime time (20.30) last Saturday.

If you live in GB you can see the programme via the BBC web site on their Ipod and you can add a copy of “I have urgent dispatches” to your collection quickly and securely on page http://www.frickers.co.uk/prints.html.

The latter also gives you acces via “further reading” to much of the brief yet facinating history of the historic and famous schooner Pickle.

Unfortunately I only found out an hour before the happening via a very kind friend so have not seen it. (more…)

As a result of speaking with Ian Criddle and Nigel Overton, the Plymouth Evening Herald (circulation 250,000 +) has asked for an article on my new marine painting Plymouth Cattewater and the offer of an exhibition at the European Parliament for which the painting is intended as a centre piece (unless some one makes me an offer I can’t refuse!).
