While in Cannes on the cote d’azur sussing the super yachts, I spotted Sarafsa, the 3,250 ish ton super yacht – or is it superyacht?
As Sarafsa is now thoroughly in the public domain here are a couple of photos snapped as my boat passed Sarafsa.

Final day of the Monaco Yacht Show, the world’s foremost exhibition for Superyachts. I have a plan of action…
I won’t have time for marine painting, or to look for possible commissions. I’ll not even have much time to take photographs.
My new brochure (ask for a copy or down load free from www.frickers.co.uk home page) is being very well received.
I have been amused to have several people say, wow, collector’s item!
Amused because there were a lot of seriously expensive brochures at Monte Carlo!
What surprises are in store today? (more…)

This time I drove to Monaco from Nice, with the Monaco Yacht Show is officially finished parking is much easier.
Great morning for meeting crews and photographing the yachts but one needs to be organised and quick.
I’d loved to have devoted some time to marine painting, oil or watercolours, probably water colours. (more…)

Super yachts ~ In my previous blog I gave you a youtube video link to the Antibes Yacht Show, April 8th, 2010 http://www.antibesyachtshow.com/intro.asp?lang=EN
Just got back from the Antibes Yacht Show, tired and hungry, after 7 hours on the road, here begins my report.
My objectives were to look for subjects and possible commands for marine painting, assemble information for possible articles and meet interesting people maybe making new friends.
Here is my first impression, the evening I arrived.

Yesterday closed with a classic sunset, we have an invigorating ‘reefed topsail’ day here today, sunny warm and unusual in the tranquil Tarn, an East wind gusting force 8 and 9, wonderful light and an inspiring gale for marine painting!
The past few days post the Monaco Yacht Show have been focused on looking for another place to settle; I must go down to the sea again, the lonely sea and the sky…
Where to rent next, cote d’azur, Loire Atlanique, Bordeaux, Cornwall? all are possibilities and all have merits…
Yesrterday closed with an impressive sunset and to the East an impressively pink sky.
How to find some where to re settle, any suggestions? (more…)

An unexpected beer with Jean-Marie Boin at lunch time today has thrown into chaos plans Michael Baker and I had for today…
Results included information about a new type of movie camera, ideal for use with U Tube, on web sites and being reminded that tonight is the first night of the famous fete de Vaour.
Jean Marie
(on the right in the photo here with Francis ands Alain Maroule) wants to make a film about The Art of Gordon Frickers, how I work and has already started filming sequences that may be useful. (more…)
