Ever had your front door blocked by hailstones? Last night made a fair attempt out side my cottage!
Landscape painting that is, painting plien aire (out doors) is currently quite a challenge with temperatures often up to the mid 30’s C in the shade.

Weather here horrid, 4.5 C rain and sleet even a little snow.
This is the South of France in May?
Still, the vines are in leaf and I’m told they like the rain at this time of year.

Left Falmouth this morning and drove via Truro and Bodmin to Plymouth.
Good and bad news, in Plymouth I was able to access my emails but learnt my No 2 computer is no more, it has computed its last err, probable cause voltage fluctuations while in France.
It seems the solution, a regulator, will cost some £200.00
Slightly better, I was able to collect the French landscapes I’d left with Adrian for some gallery directors to view. (more…)

I sailed on 19,500 tons of Brittany Ferries new “Amourique” then stayed my first night near Redon.
I have the keys to a friends house where I often help out while passing through, then eventually found my way back to Itzac in the Tarn, Midi Pyrenees.
I have been mostly cleaning my house since. How do so many spiders and so much dust get in a closed house ~ and 3 frogs in the bathroom?
The picture of my cottage was taken last year before the house warming but balloons apart the place has not changed much for 50 years and was in 1825 the village forge.
Yesterday re started painting, a large landscape painting and a marine painting, a new “Trafalgar Dawn”. (more…)

An unexpected exhibition will run to the end of September.
Today we disconcerted and surprised Gordon Frickers by having him place a small but very special exhibition of landscape paintings of the Tarn in the beautiful Hotel des Consuls, right in the centre of the historic 13th century Castelnau de Montmiral, the Place des Arcades.
The hotel, open all day every day is easy to find and visit, now run by the very amicable Helene and Marc Gaudechon the hotel retains its traditional character, is deseptively spacious and charming inside including a large (for Castelnau de Montmiral) private terrace and garden and a small swimming pool; room prices start from 48 Euros, tel: +33 (0)5 63 33 17 44 or view www.hoteldesconsuls.com (email: hoteldesconsuls@orange.fr), we unreservedly recommend this hotel.
The landscape paintings on show were all painted in the area when Gordon Frickers was experimenting with his odd colour vision, none were intended for sale yet have gained quite a following in England being noted for their colour, depth, rhythms, vibrancy and much more.
