Steady progress maintained on this painting while working on others as well. 
Plus suffering various interruptions unexpected visitors (a pleasure) PC crashing for a day and a half (not pleasure) and chasing possible new work.
This new picture shows some significant advances in the creation of this painting, compared with the previous picture below, can you spot them???

All the basics are now in place, the fine details and tidying up remain, in particular the Flying Scotsman herself, the Pullman coaches and the Royal Albert Bridge.
This new steam train painting is very different to the previous “train on a bridge” I have painted!

The Flying Scotsman has as a result of Mike Jeffries comments had a a re appraisal of the painting and some re working, specific replies to points raised listed below and may be of wider interest to artists.
The remarks have also underlined a serious problem I have here at Itzac; the studio space is tooooo small for paintings over 16” x 20”.
I need a larger studio ASAP but where, anyone want an artist in residence? (more…)

The radio Devon interview, BBC Radio Devon, Gordon Sparks Show, went well this morning. 
Sparksie had that train painting, of the Flying Scotsman on his PC screen as the Royal Albert Bridge is hot news in Plymouth at present (are we missing out).
