Here we go to set up and attend the reception for “Life on the Ocean Wave“, THE long awaited exhibition at the European Parliament of The Art of Gordon Frickers.
You only exhibit at the European Parliament by invitation.
Invitations are rare. Few artists are invited.
This day I drive to Brussels from my secure overnight parking at Watten provided by my good friends Gilles and Bridgitte Baffy.
If you were so unfortunate as to miss this event there are lots of photos with this article; enjoy a first ever event, the largest collection of The Art of Gordon Frickers ever shown and a moment in art history, a great evening, wonderful recognition and an endorsement, an honour for all the artists who work in this discipline. An enquiry arrived last week from Russia re Convoy PQ 13.
An interesting example of the growing historical worth of The Art of Gordon Frickers, a picture painted about 1993 from an eye witness account and a good story in its self.
With Captain Kozyr’s kind permission I will share here with you some of our recent correspondence. (more…)

Today was mostly spent exploring the world heritage city of Carcassonne.
The morning started as so many others here this year since mid June, grey and a chilly 13 C with spots of rain.
The prime task was to take my friend Suki to Carcassonne airport for a Ryanair flight to Stanstead.
Secondary was for Michael Baker and I to explore Carcassonne and or drive down to the Med. (more…)

Today is market day at Castelnau de Montmiral.
Michael Baker and I recommenced work following a leisurely start to the day including shopping and a coffee.
We are beginning the task of pulling together a plan which has become known as “The Grand Plan“, a rather Napoleonic title that also carries in our view a hint of Wallis and Grommit which will help keep us realistic and light hearted.
We began today following and a conversation inspired by the painting “The Promenade”.

An unexpected beer with Jean-Marie Boin at lunch time today has thrown into chaos plans Michael Baker and I had for today…
Results included information about a new type of movie camera, ideal for use with U Tube, on web sites and being reminded that tonight is the first night of the famous fete de Vaour.
Jean Marie
(on the right in the photo here with Francis ands Alain Maroule) wants to make a film about The Art of Gordon Frickers, how I work and has already started filming sequences that may be useful. (more…)

At Castelnau de Montmiral the national holiday and festive continues with a special fiore de miel (market) all day in the village, the best I have seen here for local products and an evening meal under a full moon, all very popular and attracting more tourists than I have seen before in one day in this village.
Meanwhile it is all work work work here as Michael Baker, you can see here how hard he is working, finger on the touch pad, and I brace up the web site, new home page, new Print gallery page – easier to use, and chase down many other details not least of which is furthering “The Grand Plan“.
