Busy in the studio today.

I have some ideas to sketch re the possible marine commission I mentioned yesterday, but first, Admiral Nelson and super yachts. 

I have several marine paintings in advance planning at present and several being sketched out including this one intended to be of a big superyacht (motor), with other yachts at dusk in Porto Fino but which yachts?

Want to nominate suitable superyachts?

Marine art has occupied much of my time over the past few days while I gradually develop a group of new marine paintings. I’ll tell more of the others over the next few days.

By biggest concern is for the Porto Fino super yacht scene which will show superyachts off Porto Fino at dusk.  The sketch here show the basic design.

It’s great to work on a delightful warm evening super yacht scene while outside we have – 4 C, steady snow falling and 2 inches ( 50 cms) of solid compacted ice on the hill into Itzac

HMS Pickle, a new yarn to add to the thread of the renowned schooner Pickle of unlikely name and much disputed origins, the Pickle which heroically carried the news of the battle of Trafalgar and the death of Nelson (”Sir, we have won a great victory but we have lost Nelson“) is splendidly illustrated as a Heritage quality, signed numbered edition picture in “I have urgent dispatches“.
We are rarely able to see Gordon Frickers artwork in its final location so this is a treat! (more…)
