Castelnau de Montmiral is one of the last places I’d expect evil spirits. It is a beautiful, tranquil ancient hill top “Bastide” village. One of Les Plus beaux villages de France.

agressive cows?

I arrived in Plymouth after various adventures en route including an unexpected party at St Malo and am in for a busy week.
Went to the farm at Calvados and picked up a few more important things from the wreckage of 94 RPR, my home of 22 years.

How do the Tarnais cope with snow?

Snow today in the Tarn. 2″ since 09.00. I am very glad to have my marine thermal under garments on!  The snow should make for some good photography. Paint outside? You must be joking? (more…)

Francoise at St Malo was a challenge both to me personally and to my limited French.

Saint Malo, the city of corsairs and has a history of independance, at one time declaring itself a republic, ignoring bans on trade with England during wars and producing some of France’s most famous sea men.
Before I left Castelnau de Montmiral Helene told me to be very cool so I tried to be and failed; miserably.

Got to Castelnau de Montmiral last night, heavily laden mostly with paintings and frames.

An almost  trouble free if exhausting drive from the city of corsairs, St Malo.
Total distance driven 1250 miles.
