Several interesting emails today, all 3 enquiries for marine paintings (not marine prints) about Nelson and Trafalgar.
Curiously this makes 3 enquiries for that sort of painting in the past week…
Seems a bit like the old joke about waiting for buses?
Of course, followers of this blog will know, Gordon has a new marine painting on that subject, Nelson at Gibraltar, in production (hence insert pop up pic here) at this moment and another, a new version of Trafalgar Dawn, almost ready to start. (more…)

This is to wish you a sincere Merry Christmas and to copy my latest newsletter for those unable to receive the News Letter.
Some of you will not have received my email Christmas card and new Christmas News letter, copy below.
Reasons for this include bounced and blocked emails (more on that below).
The Internet can be bizarre, I’d had a reply from Robin Knox-Johnston, star of my “Roaring Forties” painting, then got an, INVALID RECIPIENT message re the address! (more…)

Marine prints and marine painting back on the agenda, see the list below?
At last I am able to again accept offers of exhibitions!
Despite and because of the severe weather making roads all but impassable and much other activity difficult, I have finally catalogued the framed marine prints here.
One at least is still missing, where is it? (more…)

My grandmother who did not speak excellent Engrise, one winter evening, trying to be chatty with my Father who had just returned from school said to him, “it’s foggncold outside“…
Unfortuneately I missed the vernissage of the new exhibition, “Images, Imprimees, Expo”, by the artist Claire Soissons because it was foggncold.
Fortunately the exhibition continues until the 3rd of February, details below. (more…)

The marine painting of “Jane Banks entering Bermuda” (see page http://www.frickers.co.uk/marine-art/jane_banks_entering.html) has inspired a painting poem!
I am delighted and honoured to find my painting has inspired a poem now an addition to the beautiful music of Bob Brennan.
The request for a marine print of “Jane Banks“ also brought about a rare chance to meet a descendant of one of the captains of “Jane Banks“. (more…)

Plymouth Naval History Library staff have been hugely helpful with my research over many years.
“Masterpiece … … Renowned Marine artist has presented a stunning framed print to Plymouth Central Library” recorded The Herald and The Extra, while less helpfully leaving out my web site or contact details.
I felt is was about time I did some thing more tangible to show my appreciation to the staff at Plymouth Central Library , something they would like. (more…)

I can barely keep, up with it!
This is one of those days which reminds me of the debt we owe those who went before us to build our world.
The marine painting “Trafalgar Dawn” still haunts me (available in prints see http://www.frickers.co.uk/marine-art/trafalgar_dawn.html).
I am planning a new piece of marine art, the opposite view.
Today was very 21st century though.
I have had today 3 enquiries about my marine painting which may be of interest and found myself yet again busy with Trafalgar and Admiral Nelson issues.
