Wayfarer and Chunukah

HM Schooner Pickle, cousin Jack to cousin Jack

The schooner Pickle, famed for racing the Trafalgar dispatches to England; I am working on a new painting of the schooner Pickle as she passed Mounts Bay Cornwall in light early morning airs.
Pickle is reputed to have spoken with fishing luggers who raced the news to the port of Mousehole where allegedly the Trafalgar news was first announced. I’m going to try and contact some of the Cornish lugger people.72_dpi_I_have_urgent_dispatches.jpg (more…)

Some halfwit is using at least 2 of my addresses and so far I’ve not discovered a way to stop this irritant fool, an example is given below.

This damaging our business and our relationships and as current practise is illegal, here follows some info and useful links.

Christmas carols are coming

Christmas and snow are coming to Castelnau de Montmiral, here is a pop up pic from last year.  CDM_Christmas_tree_IMG_0130_d.JPG

The soprano (Dutch) Alexandra Elizinga will be singing with an English choir at  an Anglo French carol service Friday the 16 th (19.00 ish) in the beautiful ancient church, a marvelous setting.

The following day, the 17 th is scheduled as a special market day, Marche de Noël and will include carols sung in the centre of the village beside the Christmas tree. (more…)

Hermione, la frigate de libertie

This evening I returned to Castelnau de Montmiral having been away 3 days to Rochefort and La Rochelle. Hermione_bow_IMG_2314_d.JPG
I went to look at the Hermione, an historic frigate replica (ship) building at Rochefort (the replica Frigate “Hermione” is known as la frigate de libertie) ) and for opportunities to sell my work at La Rochelle.
