I can barely keep, up with it!
This is one of those days which reminds me of the debt we owe those who went before us to build our world.
The marine painting “Trafalgar Dawn” still haunts me (available in prints see http://www.frickers.co.uk/marine-art/trafalgar_dawn.html).
I am planning a new piece of marine art, the opposite view.
Today was very 21st century though.
I have had today 3 enquiries about my marine painting which may be of interest and found myself yet again busy with Trafalgar and Admiral Nelson issues.

Friends some times ask me why am I living so far from the sea when I am a marine art specialist and a “man of the sea?
The full answer is complex. Part of the reason is the light is excellent for marine paintings.
Another part is it is fun here. I never know what events will happen next.
On my list right now is giving a dinner tonight for an advertising agency director and other friends, an evening dinner on Saturday with French friends and the fete des venedanges 23 to 30 October.
I have little idea what it entales but the publicity picture from Gaillac sure looks fun, musiques, tapas et vins naturels.
What on earth is that girl doing in that barrel?

I work with my marine art partly in South West France because the light is reliable and excellent for my unusual colour vision, very few marine painting days are lost to poor light.
Not so lucky with French electrics which I certainly don’t “do”.
I went to turn on the bathroom light and “BANG” ~ no light. Investigation today revealed built in obsolescence!
Showering by candle light may sound romantic but as yet I’ve not mastered how to hold the candle, it’s not so easy in a shower…
