Got to Castelnau de Montmiral last night, heavily laden mostly with paintings and frames.

An almost  trouble free if exhausting drive from the city of corsairs, St Malo.
Total distance driven 1250 miles.

Francoise at St Malo was a challenge both to me personally and to my limited French.

Saint Malo, the city of corsairs and has a history of independance, at one time declaring itself a republic, ignoring bans on trade with England during wars and producing some of France’s most famous sea men.
Before I left Castelnau de Montmiral Helene told me to be very cool so I tried to be and failed; miserably.

Drove north to the farm near Fougers, nearer, Fougerolles, driven by several necessities.
The painting I most wanted to bring south, “Going for Gold”, Ben Aynslie at the Sydney Olympics.
I wish to re work this very unusual portrait of Ben Aynslie.

The South of France was hit heavily by snow yesterday , over 3″ in places. 

Some French are saying drivers in the South of France  are upset by 2 days of rain, this snow is causing panic, catostrophy!

The snow arrived at Castelnau de Montmiral and Itzac during the night so what are the roads like?

 Possible projects include a Laperouse painting, one or 2 on the theme of Nelson and Trafalgar (because the Victory 2005 series are about to become available for sale, I will write the story here soon) a further famous wine village series this time involving more working people in the paintings,  and I have a new idea that relates to paintings about some of the big issues of our times.
