Invitation – 'Picturesque Wine Villages of Bordeaux' series

Your invitation; an open day today and tomorrow, a sneak preview and chance to try a glass of Bordeaux, simply turn up at 55 Marine Road Oreston Quay and ring the bell.  55_Marine_Walk_IMG_9150.JPG_wp.JPG
The address is a bit tricky to find so head for Oreston Quay and find the white 3 story buildings at the down river (West) end of the quay.
What at first seems to be the front of the houses is the back so the front is back to front.
Easy really, look for the walk at the back of the properties which is actually the front.
Or ask a local or phone 07588411720 when you arrive at the quay.
You can be sure of a warm welcome.

There has never been a project quite like this; big claim, discuss over a bottle of wine…

Many artists have painted the great châteaux and the vineyards, thousands of books have been written on this subject.
No one has ever recorded the villages that have made the Bordeaux region and the great city what was and it is today.
Thus aside from and including some very beautiful landscapes I am working on other themes that run beside the viticulture.
This year some particularly beautiful landscapes have been produced and my instinct tells me as good and maybe better is still to come.
For sure I have plenty of material to work up after 4 visits this year and many on previous occasions.
This is a first chance to see the progress with ‘Picturesque Wine Villages of Bordeaux’ series and try a glass of Bordeaux.
This series has been written about here on this blog and on Facebook.
If you are unfamiliar with this project, the idea is simple; to paint around some 12 or 15 of the most picturesque wine villages of Bordeaux.
Five, maybe more of the  paintings are en route Le Tarn to London to be photographed.

The chosen few are very likely to appear in a book we have in planning stage.
A specimen chapter has been prepared to illustrate how the book could look.
The book will be aimed at people who would like to know more about the remarkable regions of Bordeaux as an introduction.
Thus is will convey plenty of surprises, both visual and in the texts without being technical.
If that interests you ask to see the PDF.

As various friends via Facebook had asked, we will hang them today and tomorrow, a first time the group will have been displayed together, 55 Marine Road Oreston Quay, Plymouth is the venue.
