North and into the fogg n cold

The long drive North from Itzac and my first experience of cold wet misty weather since last April…

Happily the first night was spent with very good friends who have a house in Morbihan, vallee de Villaine near Redon and in that house was a warm welcome and an open fire.

Today I have finished the drive at Roscoff, Rosko in the Breton language.  Roscoff_IMG_6360__wp.jpg

I’ll grab a delicious snack in my favourite creperie before sailing.

You can find this famly run creperie easily on the habour front  at Roscoff.  Creperie_IMG_6362_wp.jpg

If you don’t fancy it, this picturesque Breton sea port has many others to offer, most with fine views of the splendid harbour.

I have to board the ferry Amourique for a stormy 6.5 hour crossing were the English Channel meets the Atlantic Ocean to Plymouth, my home town for over 22 years.

I’ll be able to watch some big seas during the crossing, Amourique has excellent forward facing windows, great for considering marine art!
