Hossigur, wot, no surf?

Wotnot marine painting?

Last week the cote d’azur on the Med, this week the cote du Landais on the Atlantic, each so special each so different. Hossigur_Plage_09_IMG_6315_wp.jpg

Nop, I have just had 3 days on vacation and it was brill.  Hossigur__09_IMG_6248_wp.jpg

That was my summer holiday, camping at Cap Breton Point.

The weather was calm and warm (28 C ish most days and 20 ish in the evenings), beach babe ish.  Hossigur__09_IMG_6238_wp.jpg

The only disappointment was the camp site which I do NOT recommend.

Although rated 3 star I would not have given it 1 star.

The facilities were ancient, damaged, scruffy and dirty, in 3 days the toilets were not cleaned, nore the washing areas.

The bins were not emptied and there was litter scattered over the site.

Of course when one arrives, one hopes it will be kept to the usual high French standard, but not at Cap Breton Point, 3 YUK’s would be more appropriate..

I was glad to leave after 3 days. I would not recommend  to that site…

On the plus side the towns of Hossigur and Cap Breton were still busy enough to feel lively, the cafes were great for people watching and relaxing.  Hossigur__09_IMG_6244_wp.jpg

There are plenty of places were 2 can eat with good wine for less than 40 Euros all in.

A bonus, the eveings were blessed with beautiful calm sunsets. Hossigur__09_IMG_6262_wp.jpg

The eveings were romantic warm full moon rise.  Hossigur__09_IMG_6264_wp.jpg

The nights gently flood lite by glorious full monn light. Hossigur__09_IMG_6267_d.jpg

The place was a huge contrast with Monte Carlo and Antibes but for my money just as much fun all be it in a different way.

The beach was a splendid as ever and the sea a warm 22 C so a delight to swim in.

Great for gently topping up one’s sun tan before autumn really sets in.

I was a bit disappointed the only surf I saw was a mall mural, well at least it was marine painting…  Hossigur__09_IMG_6290_wp.jpg

No surf up but not very, a great 3 days chilling out. Hossigur__09_IMG_6274_wp.jpg

The evening drive back to Itzac was stunning.

Watching the Pyrenees in the late evening October light, wow, I have never seen mountains look like that.

Now could I have an opportunity to go back and work at painting those colours?

I wish!

How ever, my next task is to get on with some very special studio new marine art this autumn so if you want to know more watch this space…
